Congratulations to Sienna Parkes and Neve Tassicker for their great performances at the 2024 Open Short Course National Championships in Adelaide!
This prestigious event brought together over 500 of the nation’s top swimmers, competing for four exciting days.
Many participants aimed to qualify for the upcoming 2024 World Short Course Championships in Budapest this December. As this is the final short course national meet of the year, swimmers are now shifting their focus to the long course season.
Sienna made a remarkable impact by reaching four age finals, finishing third in her 400 IM age final on night two and fourth in the 400 freestyle age final on night three. Both swims were personal bests for her!
Neve also had a fantastic meet, qualifying for four age finals. She aimed to secure a spot on Team New Zealand for the world championships and achieved the qualifying time while setting the 18-year old NZ Age record. We are eagerly awaiting the announcement of her selection for the 2024 World Championships.
