Congratulations to Siena Gibson, Annika Kobus, and Angus Cran for being selected for the 2024 Queensland Tilly Cup! The event took place from September 13th to 15th on the beautiful Gold Coast.

Each year, 72 athletes from Queensland, aged 13 to 16, are chosen to compete in the Tilly Cup, where they are divided into three teams: Team Trickett, Team Henry, and Team Mills. These teams are named after three former Olympians who began their swimming careers in Queensland.

The Tilly Cup has a long-standing reputation as a prestigious event for junior swimmers in Queensland, with many of Australia's top swimmers having followed this pathway. This year's competition was exceptional, with 20 records broken over the three days.

All three MBS swimmers performed admirably, contributing significantly to their teams' point scores...whilst competing in a variety of "unique" swimming distances.

Angus Cran won both of his individual events (50m Fly, 75m Fly and 150m Fly)

Siena Gibson, fresh off the plane from competing in New Zealand, finished second in all of her individual events (50m Fly, 75m Fly and 150m Fly)

Annika Kobus was one of the youngest competitors in the whole team, finished third in all of her individual events (50m Free, 75m Free and 150m Free)

Coach Kevin was also appointed to the team - we congratulate Kevin on his first Queensland Team selection.
